This city rates an F for a place to live because of various types of problems within the community. Please read other complaints and cost to live in this and other communities
Palo is located adjacent to the Cedar river which floods all the time. It is a requirement to have flood insurance on your home. In designing a new home you have to also consider how you build it due to this being a big problem in this bedroom community.

This a little community with XX number of houses, 1 bar & Grill and 1 gas station. This little city is trying very hard to get big with all the controlling aspects of larger cities. Positives are few with a controlling city council. Speaking with people that have moved out, whom have complained of the city being selective on who they send a very threatening letter.
Example: the city passed a DIRT LAW. Yes, dirt law (ordinance) . You have to have a permit to bring dirt into the city and into your garden. One family purchased 7 bags of dirt for their garden and had it sit on their driveway. When the city seen this they sent them a letter DEMANDING that they immediately get a permit. Is this what our forefathers gave their lives for?

In the below images is both the new and old fire stations. It is believed that the new station was built due to railroad tracks dividing the town into two sections and if the trains were on the tracks it would cause a delay in emergency situations. It was built but the problem is here the old station is no longer active, so in doing so they didn't find a solution for the main reason they built the new station but are just catering a few, just in a mirror image.
